The story began with a brave Welshman, Robert Price, who more than 10 years ago built a basic prototype ball to realise his dream of downhill rolling. He fearlessly launched himself down a nearby hill, destroying the ball and breaking the little finger of his right hand. That day his passion for hill rolling was born, but more importantly, so was a near-obsession with safety that continues to this day. The Spheres that SphereMania® operates today are extremely advanced and safe, the result of 10+ years of research and development, and have nothing in common with Rob’s prototype, or with the cheap balls used by some independent “competitors”…
With the growth of the activity’s popularity in the UK, Rob and his lovely lady Emma converted the company to a franchise system, which now has 15 centres in the UK. As well as having exclusive use of the safest Spheres in the industry, every centre must undergo an annual health and safety assessment whose requirements exceed those stipulated by the EU. SphereMania® thereby ensures that its clients can enjoy their experience in maximum safety, and maintains its unparalleled safety record in the adrenaline experiences sector.
From our point of view, this level of quality control convinced us that joining the family was the best way to offer a popular, safe and proven experience. We want our activity to scare, shake and surprise our clients, but not because they’re in danger!
